Spoonfly: Size 3, 5. Turns out that the premium Alec Jackson
Steelhead Irons marketed by Daiichi are dead perfect for building
spoonflies. Choose unweighted for shallow flats, or the weighted
version with a
cone head up front to keep it down on a faster retrieve and to give it a
good vertical drop. Also available with a weed guard for surfing through the
salad. Size 5 is about 1 1/2", size 3 about 2" long.
Multi-color glitter for a holographic effect, and coated with Tuffleye
so it won't turn yellow. $3.00 each.
