The problem with deer hair flies is that no matter how tightly
they're packed, or how well they're greased, they eventually get
waterlogged and sink. By adding a collar of 3mm foam to the fly,
it stays on top longer, and even when it gets waterlogged, it still will
rise into the surface film. Built on a stinger hook, this is my go-to bass fly in the fall.
